#FakeNews: Mainstream Media Posts a Verifiably Fake Intelligence Report Alleging Trump Sexual Perversions — The Beltway Times

Thursday 57°47°F

Today, the mainstream media reached a new low. A low not previously believed to be possible.

Before we delve into the fake intelligence report on Donald Trump that the mainstream press is touting as a tome of papal-like infallibility, it’s important that we take a moment to recap the recent track record of slander, libel, and smear attacks that mainstream reporters levied against President-elect Trump throughout the election season.

Please, bear with me.

Remembering the Mainstream Media’s #FakeNews

Labeling Donald Trump a racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, homophobic fascist when his track record indicated that none of these pejoratives were true wasn’t enough for the media elites.

As you’ll remember, while speaking before a crowd in North Carolina weeks before the election, President Obama stated that Donald Trump would accept the Klu Klux Klan and their beliefs were he to assume office.

“If you accept the support of a Klan sympathiser, the Klan, and hesitate when asked about that support, then you’ll tolerate that support when you’re in office.”

In his speech, Obama failed to note that Hillary Rodham Clinton had publicly lauded former Klansman Robert Byrd as her “friend and mentor”.

Rejoicing in President Barack Obama’s slandering of Donald Trump wasn’t enough for the mainstream press. They piled on, falsely claiming that Trump did not disavow the “endorsement” of former Klansman David Duke (he did). After this line of attack failed, the media’s next tactic was to claim that Trump took too long in disavowing Duke.

A modicum of research on the part of the press would have revealed that Trump performed a full-throated David Duke disavowal sixteen years in advance, when he made the decision to step away from the Reform Party in 2000.

From the NY Times:

“The Reform Party now includes a Klansman, Mr. Duke, a neo-Nazi, Mr. [Patrick] Buchanan, and a communist, Ms. [Lenora] Fulani. This is not company I wish to keep.”

— Trump, in a statement saying he will not accept the Reform Party nomination for president, Feb. 13, 2000

Besmirching the reputation of his wife by claiming that she spent her formative years working as a prostitute wasn’t enough for the mainstream media. This bogus allegation that prompted a $150 million lawsuit from Melania and generated a contrite retraction from The Daily Mail was just one of many media attacks on the Trump family.

Calling Donald Trump homophobic wasn’t enough for the press. Trump is a man who, in 2005, around the time that Hillary Clinton was still maintaining that marriage should be exclusively between a man and woman, was posting on his blog in support of friend Elton John. “If two people dig each other, they dig each other,” Donald Trump wrote about the marriage of Elton John and longtime partner David Furnish. “I’m very happy for them.”

No, none of this was enough. Proven false time after time, the media was willing to extinguish all faith and trust the American people had for them in a futile effort to keep Donald Trump from the White House.

Remember when a predominantly African-American church was burned to the ground in Greenville, Mississippi, just a week before the election? In addition to committing arson, the perpetrator had spray painted “Vote Trump” along the side of the church. Mainstream and social media were abuzz, casting a multitude of aspersions on Trump voters they believed were committing racially-motivated crimes without any supporting evidence to confirm.

Just a few weeks ago, Mississippi state police arrested Andrew McClinton, who is, ironically, a 45-year-old African American member of the church and not a Trump supporter committing a racially-fueled hate crime, and charged him with first-degree arson of a place of worship.

Given the ubiquitous coverage that the mainstream media gave this story and the ferocity with which they consequently attacked Trump over it, you’d expect they’d issue a similarly prominent retraction when the arrest was made and truth brought to light, right?

Not a chance. Crickets.

The Fake Intelligence Report

Today, in a concerted effort to smear Donald Trump, Buzzfeed released a false intelligence report written by a “British former MI-6 intelligence agent” writing on behalf of a private security form. Within minutes, in an orchestrated campaign, this report was covered by The New York Times, CNN, MSNBC, and USA Today.

The dossier contains classification markings in a nomenclature not used by any branch of British Intelligence (CONFIDENTIAL/SENSITIVE SOURCE), and is written in a fashion that goes against both British Intelligence report writing standards and classification guidance as laid out explicitly by the British Government.

According to Buzzfeed, the document was prepared for political opponents of Trump and alleged that the Russian government had surreptitiously gained compromising information on Trump having sex with prostitutes in Russia and requiring them to perform a sex act called a “golden shower” in front of him. The act allegedly occurred, by design, in the same hotel room previously occupied by President Barack Obama.

CNN reported this afternoon that the #FakeNews report had been circulating among reporters and journalists for months, but the unverifiable nature of the source had made news outlets reticent to publish it, each waiting for the other to open the dam so that the collective group could gleefully sail down the river of slander.

CNN also reported that Arizona Senator John McCain was able to get his hands on a copy of the fake report, and attempted to provide it to FBI Director Jim Comey.

President-elect Trump summed the day’s events up powerfully and succinctly with a well-placed tweet.

The media has proven only one honest point with their reporting today — that they continue to espouse no scruples and know no shame.
