Former Cleveland Browns running back and NFL Hall of Famer Jim Brown spoke with CNN’s Brooke Baldwin Tuesday afternoon, stating that he “fell in love” with President-elect Donald Trump because of his plans for the black community.
When asked what brought him to a meeting with the president-elect at Trump Tower today, Brown said that “The President of the United States brought me. My President. He won it fair and square. He’s going to be the man for the next 4 years at least. Probably 8. And he’s amenable to listening to people who did not vote for him.”
Brown then continued to describe his conversation with Trump.
“We talked about making America a greater country. We talked about poor people; we talked about African-American people; we talked about getting rid of violence. We talked about dealing with economic development realistically and about how to work together.”
“I fell in love with Trump because he talks about helping African-American and black people, and that’s why I’m here,” Brown said.
“When he goes through what he went through to become president, he got my admiration. No one gave him a chance.”
