A Palestinian man rammed his truck into a group of Israeli soldiers Sunday after they departed from a bus on a popular promenade in Jerusalem on Sunday. The vehicle-fueled slaughter killed four and injuring 15 others and was a deliberate attack, according to Israeli police and emergency services. Among the fatalities were 1 young man and 3 young women, all of whom appeared to be in their early twenties.
Police identified the driver as a Palestinian from Israeli-annexed East Jerusalem and confirmed that the subject was shot dead by police in the attack. A dozen bullet holes scattered on the windshield.
According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the attack was terrorist-related. “We know the identity of the attacker. According to all the signs he is a supporter of Islamic State,” the prime minister was quoted as saying.
